I. Preamble - The Venturing Code (should not be changed)
As a Venturer, I believe that Americaís strength lies in our trust in God and in the courage, strength,
and traditions of our people.
II. Venturing Crew Bylaws
A. Objectives - The objectives of this Venturing Crew are:
B. Membership - Membership shall be open to all young adults of High School age and are 14 years of
age. No prospective member shall be disqualified because of race, color, creed, or
sex. All members must be registered as A Venturer and agree to the Venturing Code
D. Crew Business - Crew Business will be conducted under the principals outlined in Robertís Rule of
Order. Voting on all issues will be by simple majority, with the exception of
changes or amendments to the bylaws, which will require a 2/3 vote of the total
membership. A quorum shall consist of one more than the majority of members
for votes on routine business.
E. Officerís Meetings - Officerís Meetings will be held with the Adult Committee Meetings.
F. Newsletter - The Crew will publish a newsletter every quarter, which shall include all meeting dates
and other information of interest to the membership. The newsletter will serve as the
historical record of the Crew.
G. Dues - Dues will be $2.00 per month, payable quarterly or at any time within the quarter.
Members delinquent in dues payments for six months or more will be dropped from the Crew
H. Money-earning projects - All money earning projects must be approved by a majority vote of Crew
Members. Members who do not participate in the project are not
entitled to any benefits of the funds earned. All money-earning projects
must be approved by the Adviser and meet BSA requirements.

K. Venturing Driver Requirements - When traveling to a Venturing event under the leadership of an
adult (at least 21 years of age) tour leader, a Venturer at least
16 years of age may be a driver subject to the following
qualifications: (1) six months driving experience as a licensed
driver (time on a learnerís permit or equivalent is not to be
counted); (2) no record of accidents or moving violations; and
(3) parental permission has been granted to leader, driver, and

as follows: the Venuring T-shirt and black jeans or black shorts.
M. Ranger Guidebook - Each Venturer is responsible for purchasing the Ranger Guidebook. This book
is available from the Buffalo Trace Council Office in Evansville. The phone
number for the Scout Shop is 1-800-264-5246.
N. Ranger Guidebook and Uniform - It is required by each Venturer to purchase a Class A uniform
and the Ranger Guidebook within 3 months of obtaining
membership with the Crew.
O. Outings - On outings that require staying overnight, the Crew will be segregated by gender. Fire
guard shifts will be conducted by the adults at the outing. This is for your safety. There
will be no sexual or illegal activities at any Venturing outing. If this rule is broken, all
parties involved will be kicked out of the Venturing Program and it will be reported to the
BSA and parents immediately.
P. Commitments Made To Go On Outings - As you know, it takes a lot of time
and effort to plan and put on an outing. In order to make sure the parents and Crew do not lose out on money paid
for deposits, food, equipment rentals, etc., if you commit to going on an outing, you are obligated to pay all costs
required for that outing (food, deposits, epuipment rentals, etc.) If you find out that you can not attend the outing,
you MUST NOTIFY AN OFFICER, YOUTH OR ADULT, NO LATER THAN 1 WEEK BEFORE THE DATE OF THE OUTING. If you fail
to notify an officer 1 week befor the outing, you are responsible for paying all costs that are due since you were
included in the price of food, deposits, equipment rental, etc.
Q. Bylaws - The Venturing Bylaws may have items added or removed from it at any time with the approval of the adult committee.
